Wishing is fun, even if I never receive any of these things!
- Visits! Bring dinner. Bring a book. Bring your laptop. Bring news of your life. Or bring your knitting and just sit and “be” here for a while. Talking is optional, but nice!
- Running around for me. Having somebody I could call and say “Could you pick up a blah from the frob shop this week?” is insanely useful. A booklet with “running around” coupons would be greatly treasured.
- Adopt me a fairy penguin. How could I not want this? Penguin Foundation lets you “adopt” a fairy penguin for a year!
- I definitely need an Engineered By Firefly bumper sticker for my new wheelchair!
- I have a great idea for a mural that I could paint in the bathroom, but I need a hand with design and somebody who can stand on a chair to paint it!
- A 3-bedroom house in Nunawadding/similar with a garden at the back and all on one level for wheelchair access (I don’t ask for much, do I?).
- Small animal/etc statues for my garden. Anything from an inch to a foot or two high is fun! The Whitehouse Gardens statues look lovely, for example.
- I’d really really like a Kindle DX for reading ebooks in comfort. It needs a leather case too.
- Big planters to put in my garden and on the concrete near the garden. Have to be large enough not to dry out in less than a day in the summer sun, so at least 30cm diameter. What I really crave are a claw-footed bathtub (slightly broken would be fine for a planter!) and some of those half-barrel wooden planters with metal banding.
- Believe it or not I actually want tea towels! Does this mean I’m a real grownup now? Ikea AGGI and Julie’s Cosmos Connection are bright and fun looking. Lots of the Rodriquez ones are good too, the ones with smaller repeating designs – since mostly tea towels are folded up on the oven door I like smaller patterns rather than one big picture!
- A nice set of surround-sound speakers which I can connect to my computer would be great. Bluetooth speakers would be best since snaking cables around is hard.
- Set of very small desert spoons. My favorite ever spoon is a smaller-than-usual desert spoons plundered from an airline meal, and I would very much like more of them.
- I’d love some Sugru to make things with!
- A classic poet shirt like this one, or two (or three, or …), would be really good. Probably in a smart grey or black colour instead of white though – I hate wearing white. I’m a short 5’2″ person with a 110cm bust and 100cm waist, and I like clothes which are somewhat oversized so they’re loose and draped.
- Other mandarin-collared shirts in the same sizes and colours too.
- Build one of these v3 Window Farms for my big windows and help me plant it!
- Kit to attach a wrist strap/lanyard to my iPhone 4, the iPoddities iPhone 4s kit looks like the best.
- A Digifit Total Health Bundle costs a bunch but would help me monitor my health status
- I do love this Take It Apart T-shirt, size XL.
- There are also a bunch of things on my ThinkGeek Wish List, none of which actually have to be bought at ThinkGeek but all of which it’s easy to get there.
- Ricky

Hey there! Glad to connect back on your blog since you visited mine. Have had this tab open since you 1st commented. Thanks so much for dropping by and making me think.
I wanted to ask if this wish list of yours is up to date? How would you feel about having it shared or highlighted on my blog.
I’d be glad to send you some snail as well if I can find your address. Love sending post cards.
Cheers,
Todd aka @tojosan
@Todd: Wow, thank you! It’s current, yes, but tomorrow’s my birthday so it may be less current after I open my gifts! I’ll get in touch via email so watch your inbox
Happy Birthday!
