My name is Ricky. I have several chronic illnesses. Some of them will probably be with me for life.
I have had several people tell me I chose to get sick, or that I got sick because I had learning to do. My take on this is that it’s not my fault, but it’s my responsibility to deal with it.
Here’s what I believe:
Do I believe I caused my illness? No.
Do I believe I that now I am sick can help myself recover from this illness? Yes.
Do I believe I somehow “chose” to get sick in this lifetime? No.
Do I believe that now I am sick I can choose to work to get well? Yes
Do I believe I am sick because I needed to learn something from it? No.
Do I believe than now I am sick I can choose to learn stuff from it? Yes.
Do I believe I am sick because of ‘bad karma’ collected in previous lifetimes? No.
Do I believe than now I am sick I can choose to generate ‘good karma’ just because that’s a good thing to do. Yes.
