- CFS

- Stands for Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome. Synonym for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
- FMS
- Stands for Fibromyalgia Syndrome – there’s some debate about whether CFS and FMS are the same thing or two different things. - ME
- Stands for Myalgic Encephalitis or, more common recently, Myalgic Encephalopathy. Synonym for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
- NMH
- Stands for Neurally Mediated Hypotension, which is (at least in my case) a symptom of CFS. There’s a Patient Handout from Johns Hopkins Medical School about CFS-Related NMH.
- PVFS
- Stands for Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome. Rough synonym for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but tends to be used where the illness is of a shorter duration and less severe.
- PVS
- Stands for Post Viral Syndrome. Rough synonym for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but tends to be used where the illness is of a shorter duration and less severe.
- PWC
- Stands for Person With CFS.
- PWFM
- Stands for Person With Fibromyalgia.
- YPWC
- Stands for Young Person With CFS.
