All the machine sewing of the squares is done now, and my aunt has helpfully blocked it out onto the backing we’re using which is actually a duvet cover made of T-shirt material itself. It looks impressive:

There are 156 places where I have to hand-sew the quilt deck to the backing, plus a row of blanket stitch around the edge to fix the edge of the backing down … it’s about 3/4 done at the moment:

(Although it occurs to me that by the height of summer this may end up being the worst thing about it)
