Untitled III

Just … something that flowed from the pencils one day. I didn’t think it was anything special until one of my helpers put it behind a bunch of flowers – the green matched the green of the leaves and the pinks matched the flowers. Suddenly it was something special!

Untitled II

Another one from August 1997, I must have drawn a lot that month! This one comes from when I was experimenting with edges.

Unfinished Symphony

Stable Ground

A vaguely realistic picture of a person standing on safe, stable ground. One I drew a long time after the “The Edge” picture to show how far I’d got emotionally.

Coloured Spiral

Another Bargello-like experiment from June 1999 when I was in hospital.

Shadows and Sunlight

Salted Rainbow

A salt picture from 1998. First I painted the rainbow in bright colours, and let it dry. Then later on painted dark blue over the top and quickly sprinkled rock salt on it to draw up the colour. After it’s dry the salt that’s left is brushed off and what’s left is what you see.
